Pick your peach

More than one hundred different peach varieties will go through your grocery store in one summer. All of them have different looks and attributes. Some are full red, some have a striped look, and some are yellow with a bit of red blush. When looking for a peach to purchase, look for a piece without any green in the stemwell. After you bring your fruit home, leave it on the counter to soften or wash and enjoy. When fruit is placed in a home refrigerator, it can alter the flavor and texture of the fruit. Tree fruit is meant to be enjoyed once it reaches desired softness from sitting out at room temperature. Our favorite way to enjoy fruit is to eat it out of hand, but there are plenty of delicious recipes that can be made from our fruit as well.
