HMC News – November 2025

Every year if our trees are pushed out for new planting we convert more acreage over to our high-density planting system. One of the biggest changes involves installing new irrigation systems for the upcoming tree plantings. As we convert old plantings into high density plantings, some of them need a complete drip system installation. Prior to planting, we need to install a filter system next to the well and pump, the underground pipes, and the drip hose on the surface of the ground where the trees will be planted.

This was a monumental storm that just hit California. For our region, we received roughly 3 inches of rain. Typically for the month of November, we receive around 1 inch. Our annual average is about 10.95 inches of rain and this storm brought roughly 35% of it during a 4-day time frame.
11/14 – 1 inch
11/15 – ½ inch
11/16 – 1 inch
11/17 – ½ inch
The storm was steady through the entire period. We’re expecting more storms this winter, forecast for the rest of the year shows higher than average wet weather for the Pacific Northwest, hopefully air currents drag it further south.
