A quick moving spring storm moved through the San Joaquin Valley yesterday afternoon. There was some damage to the fruit trees and vines but not anything substantial. A hail storm is always a hit and miss situation, and noticeably less where hail cannons are present. Luckily this storm occurred early enough in the fruit development that major damage did not occur. Thinning has not started just yet so we can let the fruit continue to grow and thin out visible damage in a week or two. Another storm is predicted for tonight, so for now we sit, wait, and fire up the cannons.
