Tree Fruit Update
Early varieties have been thinned and will be ready to pick in about a months time. Late varieties, on the other hand, are just beginning to be thinned and will finish up the end of next week.
Table Grape Update
Shoot thinning is a process in which one shoot per bud is thinned out of the vine to increase uniformity and berry size in the cluster. Shoot thinning will continue throughout this week and the next
Heat Wave Hitting the Valley
Monday through Wednesday the valley will experience record high temperatures for this week in April. Luckily this has little to no affect on the fruit, but unluckily it does affect the people who are farming that fruit. In an effort to combat the heat in the fields every farm is set up with a heat station, where water and shade are provided for all workers seeking relief from these sunny spring days.
