Nectarines
Nectarines are a commodity that in our opinion, continues to get better every year. New varieties have been released over the last ten years that perfectly combine the sweet and tart taste that nectarines are known for.
Here at HMC Farms, all of our ranches are grown sustainably. We use pheromones in lieu of pesticides, use natural substances to enrich our soils, and do everything we can to take care of the land that is in turn taking care of us. As Harold often says, “We have been farming the same piece of land since 1887, that to me is the definition of sustainable.”
How do you know you’re eating an HMC Nectarine?
Look for our sticker on every piece of fruit you purchase:

Pick Your Nectarine
There over one hundred different nectarine varieties that will go through your grocery store in one summer. All of them have different looks and attributes. Some are full red, some are speckled and some are a combination of yellow and red. When looking for a Nectarine to purchase, look for a piece with yellow in the background. After you bring your fruit home leave it on the counter or wash and enjoy. When fruit is placed in a home refrigerator it can alter the flavor and texture of the fruit. Tree fruit is meant to be enjoyed once it reaches desired softness from sitting out at room temperature.
Our favorite way to enjoy fruit is to eat it out of hand, but there are plenty of delicious recipes that can be made as well. Be sure to check out our recipe page to discover new ways to enjoy our peaches, plums and nectarines.
